FarmOpt
an unparalleled source of precision agriculture research data

The FarmOpt database is being made available by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. The FarmOpt data was collected and provided by Monsanto Company. FarmOpt contains approximately 9 Gigabytes of data from more than 80 corn growers across the US Midwest. It is an invaluable resource for growers, researchers, and anyone wishing to more fully exploit the promise of precision agriculture. Each grower had a number of fields monitored in the program, with the following data collected (all in ArcView GIS format):

·Historical field information
·Soil physical and chemical properties
·Field, crop, and pest management
·Crop nutrient levels and growth rates
·Weed, insect, and disease monitoring
·Precise topography
·Crop yield and grain quality
·Weather monitoring and soil moisture levels
·Remotely sensed images
